Eloise A. Zitka Passed away in her sleep on January 12th, 2015. She was born May
9th, 1919 in Waite Park, MN. She married Raymond Zitka in Minot, ND in 1939.
They moved to Tacoma in 1942, eventually settling in Parkland. Together, they
built a rustic rambler, decorated it with restored antiques and her artwork.
Eloise was an amazing self-taught artist, craftsperson, and cook. She taught
tole painting classes out of her garage. Local newspaper articles featured her
many talents. She loved to show off her latest projects, often exclaiming with
delight, "Isn't it great," which, of course, it was. She also loved traveling
the world, dogs, and sweets. She lost some spunk when her beloved Ray passed
away in 1996. Now they are together forever. Eloise is survived by siblings Mel,
Larry, and Roger Ballman, Lillian Copeland and Genevieve Hammett, and children
Patrick, Jeanine Knutsen, Joanette Hollyoak, Michael, and Peter. Also, 5
grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held
Wednesday, January 21st, at 11am at Fir Lane Memorial Park in Spanaway.
