BOHON
Dan V. Bohon, who would have been 83 years old in June, died about 8 o'clock Wednesday evening, May 8, 1935 at his home on Beaumont avenue after a long period of ill health from heart trouble and complications. His condition had been critical for some weeks. Coming of splendid pioneer stock active in the early settlement of Harrodsburg, Mr. Bohon possessed those splendid qualities of character shown by his forefathers, and his long and exemplary life and genial personality has left a rich memory for him in this community. He was the eldest son of Richard Henry and Mary Ellen VanArsdall Bohon and is the last of his immediate family. Leaving here as a young man for a business career elsewhere, he returned to his native city on retiring and for some years had enjoyed the renewing of old ties. He was a deacon -- the oldest in years - in the United Presbyterian church, and an active Rotarian until illness overtook him.
Surviving are his devoted wife, Mrs. Ella Knight Bohon, of this city, and several nephews and nieces in other states and number of relatives in this community. The funeral will be at the residence at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon with his pastor, Dr. John W. Carpenter, officiating. Burial in the family lot in Spring Hill cemetery. The rites are set for Saturday pending the arrival of Mrs. Bohon's brother, Mr. Harry Knight, from Oklahoma City, Okla., who is expected to arrive tonight.
