She was the daughter of Dr.James and Zelda Hufford of Clearport. She attended elementary school in Clearport and then graduated in 1912 from Amanda High School. She later received a BS degree from Capital University. She became a teacher, first at the two-room school at Clearport and later at Amanda for 30 years.

She married Sherman Adler, a construction engineer. They had four children: Harriett, James, Robert and William.

Mrs. Adler was a member of Amanda United Methodist Church and a former member of Amanda Eastern Star.
