Lance Simpson, 31, of Waddy, died Thursday, the 27th day of February, 2014, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville. Born in Frankfort, he was the son of Rick and Libby Simpson of Waddy, and a member of the Waddy Baptist Church. He was a network technician for the Kentucky Department of Housing, Building and Construction. An enthusiastic UK Wildcat fan, he also enjoyed bowling, and his memberships included the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.

In addition to his parents, his survivors include his brother, Ricky Simpson and his wife, Michelle, of Frederick, Maryland; his maternal grandmother, Betty Franklin of Shelbyville; his nephews, Isaac Simpson and Josiah Simpson; and his niece, Emma Simpson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, the 3rd day of March, 2014, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville, with Reverend Ricky Simpson officiating. Interment will be in the Bagdad Cemetery, Bagdad, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M., until 6:00 P.M., Sunday, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville.
