Mrs. Hurley Pettit, of Berwick, died in Nanticoke State Hospital Saturday morning at 1 o'clock from a complication of illnesses after being in the hospital since Thursday morning. She was 75 years of age and would have observed her 50th wedding anniversary on April 24 of this year.
In ill health for the past several years, Mrs. Pettit had been bed ridden for the past three weeks and was taken to the hospital when her condition became steadily weaker.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Pettit is survived by the following sisters and brother: Mrs. Hannah Beaver, of Berwick; Mrs. Albert Wood, of Saronta, Fla.; and Scott Cragle of Nanticoke.
Born in Pond Hill, Mrs. Pettit spent most of her life in Berwick and vicinity. She was a member of First Methodist Church.
Services will be held from the Kelchner Funeral Home on Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock with the rev. Aurance F. Shank officiating with the assistance of the Rev. Howard Ake, former pastor. Interment will be in Pine Grove Market street, Berwick.
