Born in Locality in 1858 – Five Sons Survive
Honore Gauthier, pioneer resident of St. Boniface, died Tuesday evening at St. Boniface hospital, aged 71 years. Born in St. Boniface in 1858, Mr. Gauthier moved to Lorette, Man., when a young man. Here he resided for 3 years and then moved to Broquerie, Man. Later, he moved to St. Boniface. After staying a few years in St. Boniface, he moved to Lac du Bonnet, where he lived for 15 years, and then returned to St. Boniface, where he resided till his death.
In addition to his widow, who is now 75 years of age, Mr. Gauthier is survived by five sons and three daughters: David, of Winnipeg; Adrien, of Battleford, Sask; Alfred, of St. Boniface; Raymond, of Los Angeles, Cal.; Jules, of Great Falls, Man.; Mrs. Desjardins, Lac du Bonnet; Mrs. Renaud, Fort Willam, and Mrs. Bruneau, Los Angeles, Cal.
Also three brothers and six sisters: Pierre, of St. Boniface; Leonide and Joseph, of Kenora, Ont.; Mrs. Delisle, of St. Boniface; Mrs. Martel, of St. Boniface; Mrs. R. Goulet, of St. Boniface, and Mrs. Hamel, residing in Los Angeles, Cal.
The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 8 o'clock from Desjardin's funeral home to St. Boniface cathedral. Burial will be made in St. Boniface cemetery.
