The remains of the Rev. W. W. Daniel, D.D., former president of Columbia College and a leading minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church in this state, will be brought to Columbia today from Kingstree.
The funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock at Elmwood Cemetery. The body will be transferred direct from the railway station to the cemetery on its arrival from Kingstree and will be accompanied by friends and members of Dr. Daniels congregation.
Dr. Daniel was president of Columbia College for 17 years and contributed greatly to the upbuilding of that institution. At the chapel exercises. The flag on the college campus was hung at half-mast.
Pallbearers will be E. D. Frierson, L. S. Dennis, W. D. Jenkinson, E. M. Gordon, C. B. Clarkson, J. F. McFadden, D. D. Peele and J. M. Arial.
Honorary pallbearers will be J. C. Guilds of Columbia College, D. A. Pressley, W. J. Murray, Dr. Boozer, H. W. Richbourg, F. A. Davis, Richard Davis, T. I. Weston, D. H. Munson, F. Mason Crum and G. T. Pugh.
The services will be conducted by the Rev. C. C. Derrick, presiding elder of the Kingstree district, the Rev. J. M. Pike and the Rev. R. S. Truesdale.
