Emily May Jones, 80, of Pollux Circle, died in her home Oct. 4, 2005, after a brave battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Bobby and Eric. She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Gus Hoyt Jones; two daughters, Mary Carney and husband Dan and Judy Smith; a son, William Jones; four brothers, Carlton, Ernest, William and George McDonald; two sisters, Murlene Wilson and Carolyn Peterson; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Mike Putnam. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m.
