Civil War Veteran, With Record, Is Victim at 68 Years of Age.
Samuel E. Adams, 68 years old, died Tuesday at his home, 308 Morris street. Funeral services will be held at the residence at 2 P.M. today.
Mr. Adams served during the Civil War in the First Brigade, First Division of the Twenty-third Army Corps. He saw service at Nashville, Franklin and Columbia, Tenn., and at Atlanta, Peach Tree Creek, Dalton and Chattahoochie River, Georgia.
He is survived by a son, Elmer I. Adams, of Marion Kan., and two daughters, Mrs. E. Hillier and Mrs. J. I. Hemmings, both of this city. Five grandchildren also survive him.
