AUSTIN -- Alice K. Francis, 81, of 200 First Ave. N.E., and a Wisconsin native, died early Sunday morning (April 19, 1992) at Adams Healthcare Center in Adams.
Born Alice K. Halstead on Aug. 30, 1910, in Cassville, Wis., she married Chester D. Francis on Aug. 3, 1933, in Spring Valley.
Survivors include a son, Robert of Hollandale; two daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Lewis) Eschen of Independence, Iowa, and JoAnn (Mrs. Richard) Thorson of Le Roy; a stepson, Merwin Francis of Austin; three stepdaughters, Kay (Mrs. William) Peters of Waterloo, Iowa, Elaine Gaden of Union City, Calif., and Darlene (Mrs. Owen) Winkler of Albuquerque, N.M.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Winnie Ludwig of Adams. Her husband, two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Queen of Angels Catholic Church here, with the Rev. Thonas Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin where there will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m. today.
