Adeline G. Helgestad, age 79, passed away after a lengthy illness on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at Skaalen Health and Rehab.
She was born on Jan. 7, 1931, at home in Deerfield, the daughter of Henry and Karen Halverson. Adeline married Norman D. Helgestad on Nov. 4, 1950, in Deerfield. Adeline enjoyed traveling and her flower gardens. She was a past member of Deerfield Lutheran Church in Deerfield and since 1999, a member of Covenant Lutheran Church in Stoughton.
Adeline is survived by her daughters, Judith (Edward) of Chicago, Ill. and Sharon Helgestad of Los Angeles, Calif.; grandchildren, Erin (Marc) Menet, Courtney Day and Allison Day, all of Chicago, Ill.; and siblings, Arline Field of Fort Atkinson, and Henry Halverson and Mabel (Ervin) Ring of Stoughton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman in 1991.
A memorial service will be held at Gunderson Stoughton Funeral Home, 1358 Highway 51, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, with Pastor Mark Petersen presiding. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
