Daniel was born in Lewiston, Idaho, April 6, 1949. He was educated in Butte schools and graduated from Butte High School in 1967. Mackey was an outstanding football player for Butte High School and was an All-State Defensive Tackle there. He played two years for the Eastern Montana Yellowjackets. He was vice-president of the student legislature at Eastern Montana College in Billings.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. C.B. Mackey of Butte, brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ben D. Mackey of Butte and a sister, Barbara Mackey, of Ennis.
Wake services will be Tuesday evening at 8 in Duggan Merrill Mortuary. Mass of Resurrection Services will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary Church by the Revs. James Stanaway and William Molloy. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with graveside services conducted by Father Molloy.
Pallbearers will be Jim White, Jim Coyne, Dan Harrington, Bill Boble, Bob Travis and Jody LaForest.
