Richard Brian 'Dick' Dehne was the son of Mary and Rodney Dehne. He entered the U.S. Air Force on December 19, 1958.

After graduating from Aviation Cadet Undergraduate Navigator Training at Harlingen AFB, Texas, he attended Radar Interceptor Officer School at James Connally AFB, Waco, Texas. After graduation he was assigned to fly the McDonnell F-101, Voodoo. He served in Aid Defense Command at Malmstrom AFB, Montana until 1968 when he attended F-4 Replacement Training at Mc Dill AFB, Florida.

In early 1969, he went to Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base in Thailand where he was assigned to the 497th Tactical Fighter Squadron flying the McDonnell Douglas F-4D, Phantom II.

After about four months, he volunteered to become a Wolf FAC where he remained for about four months before returning to the 497th TFS to complete his one year tour. Both in the 497th and as a Wolf FAC he flew most of his missions with Lt/Col Skip Harrington.

He retired from the Air Force on December 31, 1984.

Dick died of cancer on October 26, 1990 in Highlands County, Florida.
