Mrs. Alsing was born in Ohio and moved with her family to Oakland when she was 18 months old and she lived there until retiring in 1975 and moving to Middletown with her husband Leonard (Pete) Alsing.
Mrs. Alsing went to Holly Names College in Oakland on a violin scholarship and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She taught grammar school in both the Catholic school system as well as the public school system in Oakland for over 20 years. After school she taught violin and piano lessons at her home for many years.
On moving to Middletown she performed with the Clearlake Symphony Orchestra until the age of 81. She was a very passionate supporter of St Joseph's Catholic Church in Middetown.
