Jola was born on September 19, 1930, in the Town of Rhine, daughter of Elmer and Norma (Mayer) Anhalt. She was a 1948 graduate of Kiel High School. On May 20, 1950, she married John Kolb. On November 15, 1975, she married Gerald Schwinn in Sheboygan. Gerald passed away on April 11, 2006. Jola was employed with Acuity Insurance for 19 years until her retirement in 1993.
Jola was a member of Grace UCC in Kohler. She enjoyed bowling, senior dartball, gardening, flowers, reading, puzzles, and golf.
Jola is survived by her daughter; her two sons; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; two step-daughters; three step-sons; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Jola was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Gerald, her parents, her daughter, Vicki Lynn Kolb, and one sister, Darlene Lefeber.
Funeral services to celebrate Jola's life will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Wenig Funeral Home, 711 Broadway, Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Tom Schroeder officiating. Entombment will take place at Gardens of Peace Mausoleum in the Town of Sheboygan.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 4:00 pm.
A memorial fund has been established in Jola's name for ALS.
