She was born on June 28, 1939 in Donnellson, IA the daughter of Merle and Ruby Benge Spurgeon. On June 22, 2003 she was united in marriage to Michael Jones in Memphis, MO. He survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Jeanie Drummond and her husband Mike of Memphis, MO, two sons, Robert Courtois and his wife Angie of Farmington, IL and Tony Courtois and Nancy of Groveland, IL, eight grandchildren, Jared, Mark, Dawn Corvin, Stephanie, Lindsay, Shelby and Halley, six great-grandchildren, Carson, Kenzie, Brody, Kellen, Keaton and Aden, one brother, Reverend Eugene "Gene" Spurgeon and his wife Pearl of Arnold, MO, two sisters, Joan Briley and her husband Bill of Keokuk and Sue Jobe and her husband Roger of Warsaw, IL and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn "Sonny" Spurgeon and Richard "Dick" Spurgeon.
Marjorie had been employed at Sheller Globe/Schlegel in Keokuk for 27 years, retiring in 2001 at the age of 62.
Marjorie's heart was in her home and she loved caring for her husband and children. She made their house a home and created memories that will last forever.
