Singer and actor. After arriving in Paris in 1908, he started singing on the stage of Bobino. But he became famous in 1928 when he sang "Mon Paris" (a title Josephine Baker sang later too), written by his father-in-law, Vincent Scotto; from then on, he created two light operas or appeared in two films a year. His operettas include "Un de la Canebière" (1936), and even the second world war hardly an impact on his career. Though, he became old-fashioned after the war and wrote songs before dying at age 61.
