Floyd J. Beatty of Leopold died Tuesday, April 18, 1989 at Bond Nursing Center. He was 70. Mr. Beatty was born September 26, 1918 at Detroit, Michigan, son of Floyd B. and Eva McKay Beatty. On February 10, 1949 he married the former Virginia Boyet.

She survives, as well as two sons, Paul Beatty of Alma, Arkansas and Edward Beatty of the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Guam; one daughter, Patricia Beel of Lutesville, MO; one sister, Ruth Walker of Burton, Michigan; and eight grandchildren.

One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Beatty moved to this area 26 years ago from Kalamazoo, MI.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He was a retired construction worker.

Services were held April 20, 1989 at Liley Funeral Home.

Burial in the Glen Allen Cemetery.
