James "J.R." Austin, 66, died March 8, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.

He was born August 15, 1947. He worked as a dairy farmer, he retired from Mississippi State University Animal and Dairy Science. He was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Cedar Bluff.

Services were at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Burial was in Wheeler Grove Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Eva Sue Thrasher Austin, two sons David (Rachel) Austin of Green Bay Wis. and Steve (Toni) Austin of Henderson, TN, three daughters, Tammy Coggins of Starkville, Janet (Scott) Manasco of West Point, and Angie (Kenny) Belvin of Meridian, two brothers Johnny Austin of Corinth and Kevin Lee Austin (Nita) of Bells, TN, 10 sisters, Pasty Farris (Troy) of Corinth, Peggy Guy of Booneville, Betty Akins (Marvin) of Booneville, Janice Hamlin of Corinth, Wanda Love of Orlando, Fla., Judy Spencer of Booneville, Linda Trimm (Michael) of Corinth, Kathy Conaway (Keith) of Corinth, Joyce Perrin of Corinth, and Gladys Jones (Jerry) of Corinth, 12 grandchildren, T.J., Ryan, and Makayla Coggins, Marissa, Jacob, Genldon, and Clayton Austin, Aiden and Piper Manasco, Sadie McCoy, Anna and Charlotte Belvin.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee and Retha Jewel Spencer Austin, one brother, Robert Austin.
