John William Lowden, 72, of West Leisenring, died Monday, July 22, 2002, at home. He was born Oct. 9, 1929, in West Leisenring, son of William Lowden and Sadie Rhodeheaver Lowden. John was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired machine operator from Ross Manufacturing Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. His wife, Emma Mardell Pletcher Lowden, sisters and brother, Dorothy Pletcher, Holbert Lowden, Delores Bukovan, and parents preceded him in death. He is survived by a son, J.L. Lowden of Ohio; sister, Rosella Tinkey of McDonald, Pa.; stepsons, Terry Kimmel and David Kerr; one grandchild; and nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Laurel Hill Memorial Cemetery with Pastor William E. Lawson officiating. PLEASE MEET AT THE CEMETERY. Arrangements are under direction of the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar.
