Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Lawson came to the United States in 1902 and to Omaha in 1908. He received his law degree from the University of Omaha and practiced law until 1973. 


From 1919 to 1939, he was supreme secretary of the Danish Brotherhood in America and also Danish vice consul from 1923 to 1933 and from 1949 to 1960. He was twice honored by Danish King Christian X, who conferred upon him two degrees in the Royal Order of the Knights of Dannebrog.


Lawson died Thursday of a heart attack at Papillion Manor, a nursing home where he had lived for about a year, a family member said. He previously lived at 111 South 49th Avenue, Omaha, Nebraska, where his widow, Dorothy, still lives.


The funeral for Frank V. Lawson, 90, a retired Omaha lawyer, will be at 9:30am Monday in Crosby-Kunold-Burket Farnam Street Chapel.


In addition to his widow, he is survived by his son, Frank V. Jr of Omaha; daughter Marjorie (Mrs. Harold) Friedman of Los Angeles, and five grandchildren.


Burial will be in Springwell Cemetery.
