Life Legacy
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iota for Elridge J. Pousson, 88, who died Monday, March 10, 2014 at 11:05 a.m. at Extended Care of Southwest Louisiana in Lake Charles.

Mr. Pousson was a native and lifelong resident of Iota. He retired as a self-employed carpenter. He served as Justice of the Peace for 48 years, was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Woodmen of the World and First Derrick Camping Club. He was a veteran of the US Air Force having served his country during World War II.

Fr. Jude Thierry, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

He is survived by two daughters, Gloria P. Quebodeaux of Toledo Bend, Fay P. Vasseur of Eunice; two sons, Bob Pousson and his wife Kathleen of Toledo Bend, Bill Pousson and his wife Sherry of Moss Bluff; ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Florence Smith Pousson; his parents, Alcide and Madie Dietz Pousson; two sisters, Elta P. Fontenot and Ella Mae P. Wriborg; one brother, Elroy Pousson; two great-grandsons, Lindon and Logan Pousson; son-in-law, Joe Quebodeaux.

Pallbearers will be Scott Quebodeaux, Jimmy Quebodeaux, Michael Pousson, Dylan Vasseur, Glenn Pousson and Lynn Pousson. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Pousson, Timothy Pousson, Adam Pousson and Devin Quebodeaux.
