James Lorenzo Eddington, 95, formerly of Idaho Falls, died June 6, 1984 in Provo, Utah.
He has been active in politics, the school board, and in civic and church activities. While living in Charlo, Montana, he served as a bishop. He worked as a farmer, mechanic, and electrician and retired at age 70 from the Bonneville Power Administration in Washington. He then moved to Idaho Falls where he lived until moving to Provo, Utah to live with his daughter.
He was born to Sarah Louise Durrant and Henry Charles Eddington in Morgan, Utah, May 28, 1889. In 1904 the family moved to Sugar City. As a young man he spent three summers working in Island Park on the Railroad Ranch where he was a guide.
He married Mary Linda Anderson on September 15, 1911 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He is survived by seven children: Laurel A., Great Falls, Montana; Altos, Tacoma, Washington; Arlin H., Palm Desert, California; Thane, San Diego, California; Thellis, Provo, Utah; Mrs. Paul (Venola) Boren, Idaho Falls; and DeLoy A., Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Wood Funeral Home under the direction of Bishop Ralph M. Wood. Burial will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
