"Ted" was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Carlo and Doris Thomsen, and grew up in Daly City. He earned his AA from SFCC and a BS from Golden Gate. He joined the Paul Revere Masonic Lodge in 1956. In 1957, he married Doretta Meyer, with whom he had three children. He retired in 1985 from Agnews State Hospital after 26 years as an accountant. He and his family were baptized at St. Philip. Ted is survived by his wife; a son, daughter, and son-in-law; a grandson and granddaughter; and a sister-in-law. He is buried at Woodlawn in Colma, next to his wife, son Craig, and parents.
