Elmira: Age 84, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility. Regina was born in Columbia Crossroads PA on January 25, 1930, the daughter of Mark and Myrtle (May) Abbey.

She is predeceased by her brothers, James and Ira Abbey. Regina is survived by her husband of 56 years, Herman E. Granger; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and James Bernas, Horseheads, Karen and Lawrence Beach, Elmira; grandchildren, Joshua (Katie) Burczynski, Zachary (fiancée Megan Ferree) Burczynski, Sarah (fiancé Christopher Potts) Burczynski and Corey Bernas; great-grandsons, David, Matthew and Aaron; brother and sister-in-law Roland and Marciel Abbey, Endicott.

Regina was Town of Elmira Clerk from 1982 to 1995. She loved rooting for her favorite team the NY Yankees. Regina enjoyed going to her grandchildren's basketball, baseball and softball games. She was a long time communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be a prayer service at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Interment will take place at Harkness Cemetery, Springfield PA.

The Granger Family extends their sincere thanks to Dr. Dominic Romeo, Dr. John Schiavone and the 5th floor staff at St. Joseph Hospital SNF for the wonderful care that Regina received over the past several months.
