Claudine T. Dooley Jones passed away on February 10, 2014. She was born July 24, 1914 in Bedford Co. a daughter of the late Frederick James Dooley and Theona Pearl Dooley. In addition to her parents, Claudine was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas O. Jones; five sisters, Sadie Kathleen Dooley Tuck, Lois Josephine Dooley Davis, Levia L. Dooley Chandler, Harriet Delania Dooley Jones and Hazel S. Dooley Knighton; three brothers, James Woodford Dooley, Bertram Bramblee Dooley and Leon P. Dooley.
Claudine attended Thaxton Baptist Church in her younger days. She later became a member of the Presbyterian Church in Norfolk and Bedford. She and her husband, Tommy relocated to Sunnyside Presbyterian Retirement Center in Harrisonburg, Va. where she was residing upon her death.
She is survived by one brother, Fred A. (Dick) Dooley; nieces, Maureen Tobin Walker, Susan Knighton Canamaugh, Janice "Jackie" Jacqueline Knighton; nephews, Alfred Kyle Tuck, Jerry Wayne Dooley, John Dooley; five great nephews; one great-great-nephew; one great-great-niece.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014 in the Dooley Family Cemetery with Ron Wilson, Minister and Dave Young officiating. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford. Posted in Obituaries on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 12:00 am.
