She was born in Pittsburgh on July 31, 1919, a daughter of the late Robert and Alma (Baumgartner) Auth.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carlisle was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Raymond Carlisle; and infant daughter, Mary.
Mrs. Carlisle is survived by four sons, Richard Carlisle, of Medford, Ore., Gregory Carlisle, of Pittsburgh, Ralph Carlisle, of Avon, Ind., and Edward Carlisle, of Leechburg; three daughters, Patricia Nardozzi, of Pittsburgh, Jeannette Morgan, of Cranberry, and Christine Carlisle, of Cecil; also survived by 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Prior to her retirement, Alma worked in the cafeteria of St. Athanasius School from 1964 to 1972 then at the cafeteria of the North Hills School District from 1974 to 1984. She was a member of the St. Athanasius Christian Mothers, where she was past president in 1964 and 1979; Catholic Daughters of America, Court Sacred Heart of the North Hills Chapter 1560; St. Athanasius Senior Citizens Group; AARP Chapter 2211 of West View; and North Hills United Presbyterian Church Retired Group.
Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME INC., 388 Center Ave., West View. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Athanasius Church with the Rev. Robert Norton officiating.
Interment will follow in Christ Our Redeemer (North Side Catholic) Cemetery, Ross.
