He is survived by his wife, Marie Follis; a sister, Corinne Hamilton; three daughters, Yvonne Tidwell, Yvette De Barr and Suzette Walker; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He spent most of his life in the Gulf Coast area of Texas and moved to Tyler in 2001 to be closer to his family. He was a proud veteran who served in the Air Force and as a Navy Seabee with MCB-11. He was a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
Charles made the decision to donate his body to science. Graveside services will be held once his ashes are returned for burial.
