OBITUARY-
ADAMS -- A funeral Mass will be held for Marcella Frances Winkels at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams with the Rev. Ruben Spinler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Winkels, 81, of Adams, a homemaker, died Tuesday (Feb. 23, 1999) at her home.
Marcella Frances Retterath was born Jan. 7, 1918, in Meyer, Iowa. She married Arthur B. Winkels on May 18, 1937, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waupsie, Iowa. Mrs. Winkels was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, American Legion Auxiliary and the Jolly Dozen 500 Club. She enjoyed quilt making and embroidery.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Eugene of Hinckley, Minn., Donald of St. Louis, Mo., Marvin of Cambridge, Minn., Arthur Jr. "Bernie" of Menomonee Falls, Wis., and Wilbur of Taylors Falls, Minn.; two daughters, Suzanne (Mrs. Delbert) Lorentzson of Mesa, Ariz., and Deborah (Mrs. Lee) Nelson of Lakeville, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret (Mrs. Robert) Gerber, Marie Rauen and Isabel (Mrs. Francis) Gilgenbach, all of Adams; and a broother, Paul Retterath of Chester, Iowa. Two brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the church from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and an hour before the service Saturday.
