Chrystine was called home by the Lord on March 11. She lived a life filled with love and faith.

Chrystine was born in Rayville, Missouri September 12, 1909, the only child of Andrew Thomas Crowley and Dora Edith Crowley.

In 1930 she married Avery "Chubby" Walker and soon after, migrated to the Pacific Northwest with her husband and parents, determined to escape the blight and famine of the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression, and hopeful and faithful about building new lives in Washington.

They set out in the winter of 1930 and traveled across country, looking for work along the way. After a year of travelling, and with their money gone, they arrived in Blaine in January 1931.

In the mid 30's, Chrystine and Chubby relocated to Seattle to start their own business, Chubby's Old Time Dance at the Pike Place Market, which they ran for 10 years. In 1935 Chrystine gave birth to Marlene, and in 1944, Chrystine and Chubby opened their home to two other girls who they raised as their own daughters; June and Janice. Eventually the family relocated to Port Angeles where they lived until 1953, when they returned to Seattle.

After Chubby's death in 1958, Chrystine continued to work at the Edmund Meany Hotel and finally at the University of Washington Husky Den until her retirement in 1974.

In 1975 Chrystine married Walter Clark after meeting through a Seniors Dating Club. They relocated to Birch Bay where they enjoyed their retirement years together until 1999 when Walter passed away.

Chrystine is survived by her daughter, Marlene Browning; grandson, Lance and wife, Ludy; June and Earl Fox, and grandchildren, Leslie, Debbie, Rick, David and Tammy; and granddaughters, Delcia, Rochelle and Jamie, and many great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by daughter, Janice.

The family would like to thank the many special friends, who over the years have cared about, and loved Chrystine and shared their time with her. You are many. A special thank you to Whatcom Hospice for the gentle, loving care you helped provide during Chrystine's last weeks.

Chrystine was laid to rest March 18 at Evergreen-Washelli, Seattle. Memorial Services were held 6:30pm Thursday, March 20 at Northwest Baptist Church, 3545 Northwest Ave., Bellingham.
