Vietnam War Medal of Honor Recipient. Private First Class of Marine Corps, he was born in Italy, but was adopted by an American family in the early 50's. He was killed in Quang Tri South Vietnam, by ground casualty artillary rocket or mortar hostile. P.F.C. Ioanni is listed on panel 35E, line 047 of the Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C.PFC USMC Lorenzo Joseph Ioanni Demperio , 24, of Jack's Reef, Memphis, New York died in VIETNAM on Wednesday, January 24th, 1968.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Demperio, a brother, Airmen 2. C. David Demperio, a sister, Miss Josephine Demperio, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

On Monday, February 12th, 1968, services were held at the B. L. Bush Funeral Home in Jordan, New York and St. Patrick's Church in Jordan, NY and burial was in Assumption Cemetery.
