Ruth A. Boos, 71, of Effingham, Illinois, entered into eternal rest at 7:05 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2014, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Effingham, Illinois. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Effingham, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday with a 6:30 p.m. Parish Rosary, all at Sacred Heart Church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, Illinois.

Ruth was born on October 16, 1942, in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Norbert F. and Virginia H. Koester. She married James L. Boos on March 17, 1960, and he survives.

Ruth was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Effingham, Illinois. She enjoyed spending time with family and relaxing with Jim whether at home or on long vacation car rides.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Jim Boos of Effingham, Illinois; two daughters, Jamie Schuette (husband, David) and Virginia “Gigi” Behl (husband, Kevin), both of Effingham, Illinois. She has 5 grandchildren of whom she was so proud of and were the light of her life, Dr. Alexandra Schuette, Aundrea Schuette-Kastl (husband, Brad), Lance Corporal Johnathon Schuette, Taylor Behl (fiancé, Anthony Hecht), and Nicholas Behl. She is also survived by siblings, Gary J. Koester (wife, Kathy) and Jane Kabbes (husband, Jack, deceased) both of Effingham, Illinois and Ron Koester (wife, Alice) of Teutopolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, J. Leonard and Pauline Boos.
