Visitation for Mr. Friedrich will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Funeral services will be held at Davis Chapel at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 8 with Rev. Glenna McVeigh officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
George Henry Friedrich was born April 11, 1930, at the family home in Cooper County, the son of George H. Friedrich Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Carmichael Friedrich. He graduated from Boonville High School. He married Doris Laura Kunze Nov. 3, 1951 in Boonville and they are the parents of three sons. He served his country with the U.S. Army in Korea where he was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart. George was very knowledgeable about anything mechanical and as a result was in the automotive parts and service departments for several local businesses for many, many years. He enjoyed the farm and especially his tractors and caterpillar. Later in life he enjoyed the company of his many friends at local coffee shops, where there was a lot to be discussed.
George Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, and two grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, James M. (Jennifer) Friedrich and Larry Wayne (Nichole) Friedrich, all of Boonville and Mark (Carla) Friedrich of Rocheport. His granchldren; Michelle Friedrich Kaiser of Boonville, Laura Robinson of Troy, MO, Mary Goetze of Boonville, Lacy Vandivort of Elsberry, MO, Toby Friedrich of Boonville, Keriann Brandt of Monroe City, MO and Marcus Friedrich of Columbia along with ten great-grandchildren also survive.
