Tracey Lynn (Ransom) Barnard, 41, of Rural Oxford, died Saturday, March 15, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born April 24, 1972 in Danville, Illinois to Douglas and Cheryl "Sherry" (McCool) Ransom. Brothers-in-law, Bret and Brad Barnard, maternal grandfather, Marvin McCool and paternal grandparents, Claire and Helen Louise Ransom, preceded her in death. She married Bart Barnard August 12, 1994 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lafayette, Indiana. Hhe survives.

Also surviving are her children, Hunter and Hillary; her parents; sister, Beth (Steve) Snack; brother, Scott (Lauren) Ransom; grandmother, Anna Evelyn (Graves) McCool; father and mother-in-Law, Gerald "Jerry" & Martha (Tatlock) Barnard, Sister-in-Law, Jerilyn (Barnard) (Jeff) Strasburger; nieces, Paige, Georgia, Cecily and Kayla; nephews, Gavin and Kyle.

She was a 1990 Graduate of Benton Central High School and a 1994 graduate of Purdue University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She worked as a teacher for Benton Community School Corporation, teaching at Boswell Elementary & Prairie Crossing Elementary.

She loved to watch her children in their activities, being with family and friends, reading, listening to music, shopping and camping. She especially enjoyed family trips to Florida. One of her greatest enjoyments, other than her own family and children, were those Third grade lives she touched through her teaching.
