HARDYSTON - Paul F. Polliak, 89, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, with his family by his side. Born in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., he was the son of the late Andrew and Maria (Stefancik) Polliak. Very early in his life he was a resident of Franklin, but later moved to a farm with his family on what was then North Church Road area (now known as Bunn Road). He had been a resident of that road for the past 82 years. Mr. Polliak for 58 years was employed as a maintenance engineer for the Plastoid Corp., in Hamburg, retiring from that position in 1991. He loved to "tinker" with and repair all types of machines in his spare time and most recently had been know as "the wheel horse man" for his ability to fix tractors. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Roberta "Jean" (Little) Polliak, 2001. He also was predeceased by his siblings: a sister, Julia Fetzer and brothers Andrew, Michael and Joseph Smith. He is survived by his daughters, Marlene Casterlin of Hardyston and Donna Crum and her husband, Sidney, of Hamburg; grandchildren, Christopher Crum and his wife, Tracey, Jennifer Padgett and her husband, Richard, Amy Praschil and her husband, Timothy; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Timothy and Madison Crum, Dakota Padgett and Layla Praschil.
