Sarah ("Sadie") was born in 1869 in Salt Lake City to Mormon Pioneers, James Cabble and Jane Elizabeth Brunker Cabble. Her father died when she was young and her mother died when she was a teenager. Her mother had been married a total of three times (to James Cabble, John Smith and Aaron Nebeker) and Sarah had two sisters and one brother and several half-siblings.

The 1880 Census indicates Sarah's mother, Jane, and Jane's 2nd husband (John Smith) had divorced. Sarah was living with Jane, (who had reclaimed the Cabble last name) several siblings, her grandmother Elizabeth Brunker and 7 other members of the Brunker family. They were living on 200 South in Salt Lake City in the area of 900 East.

Her mother Jane married Aaron Nebeker later that year in November in Salt Lake. Aaron and Jane had a child the following year who was born in Laketown, Rich, Utah (the southern end of the Bear Lake Valley.) Jane died in Salt Lake in 1887 at the age of 45 from a bacterial infection. She was buried in the SLC Cemetery next to two of Sarah's sisters (Mariette Cabble and Elizabeth Cabble) who both died as children in 1868.

Sarah married Charles Thomas Taylor in 1887 in Laketown, Rich, Utah. They later moved to the Rexburg, Idaho area and had 9 children, 4 of whom lived to adulthood. Charles died in Rexburg in 1902. At the time of Charles' death, he and Sarah had been married for 15 years.

Eight years later, in 1910, she married Jonathan Pugmire, a divorced man from the Bear Lake area. Together, they lived in Laketown, Rich, Utah and had two children: Thomas and Pearl. Thomas died as an infant. By 1918 (WWI,) the Pugmires were living in the Magna area of Salt Lake County, where Jonathan and two of Sarah's sons, Arthur Taylor and James T. Taylor, were working in the Bingham Canyon Mine.

The Pugmires later moved to Contra Costa County, California -along with several other family members- where they remained the rest of their lives. Jonathan Pugmire died there in 1936 and Sarah died there in 1946. Jonathan and Sarah were married for 26 years.

Sarah's name is listed on the headstone of her first husband (Charles Taylor,) but she is not buried with him. Sarah is buried in Antioch, Contra Costa, California with her son James W. Taylor, and in the same cemetery as her second husband, Jonathan Pugmire.
