He volunteered for the Air Force and served as a pilot during World War II. After the war, he was stationed at Travis AFB. Upon leaving the service, he settled in Napa, where he met Lorraine Sousa. They were married Nov. 9, 1952.
He owned and operated Moore Sporting Goods in Napa from the early 1950s to the mid 1960s. He then became a commercial pilot for Saturn and Transamerica Airlines, traveling to every continent of the world before retiring in 1982.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Orangevale; his brother, Marion Moore, of Eads, Tenn.; his sister, Virginia (Sis) Hardiman of Roswell, Ga.; and his one daughter and five sons; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
