Ruth H. Boll, age 76, New Holstein, died Saturday, May 28, 2011, at the Homestead Care Center with her family at her side following a brief battle with cancer. The former Ruth Fluhr was born Feb. 6, 1935, in Chilton, to the late John and Marie (Krautkramer) Fluhr. She attended St. Mary's Grade School in Chilton, and graduated from Chilton High School in 1954. On Nov. 6, 1954, she married John Boll at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilton.

Ruth was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. She liked to knit afghans, travel, and golf. She enjoyed cooking and canning too.

Survivors include her husband, John, New Holstein; her five children, Paul Boll, Elkhart Lake; Douglas Boll, Omaha, NE, and his special friend, Jody Golden; Daniel (Wendy) Boll, Kiel; Brian (Monica) Boll, New Holstein; and Cynthia Gerhartz; New Holstein, and her friend, Tom Schneider; 13 grandchildren, William Boll and his fiancee, Marie, Christa (Jason) Mueller, Courtney Boll, Alexandra Boll, Drew Devine, Michelle (Brian) Haensgen, Travis (Melissa) Boll, Jenna (Kyle) Bratz, Adam and Lucas Boll and Alyssa, Quinten and Brooke Gerhartz; four great-grandchildren with her fifth grandchild expecting in July; three sisters, Ethel (Alvin) Dedering, Milwaukee; Alice Flandrena, Milwaukee; and Dorothy (Donald) Richart, Hilbert; and her brother, Earl Fluhr, Little Chute, and his special friend, Lois.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her daughter-in-law, Lora Boll; a brother, Robert (Carol) Fluhr; and a brother-in-law, William Flandrena.

Family and friends may call at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street in New Holstein, on Thursday, June 2, 2011, from 3 to 6 p.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow. The Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate. Entombment will be at the Calvary Mausoleum in Manitowoc.
