Charles Brodtke, 61, of Rt. 1, Cato, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a few days illness. Funeral services will be held at the St. John-James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reedsville. The Rev. John Dendland will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was born May 23, 1894 in Cato, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Brodtke and on Nov. 1, 1919 married Miss Carmen Miller. They located on the homestead farm in Cato. For the past two years he was employed by the Manitowoc Equipment Works.
Surviving are his wife and a son, Russell of Rt. 1, Cato; two daughters, Mrs. Oliver Christopherson of Valders, Mrs. Leonard Maertz of Rt. 1, Reedsville; a sister, Mrs. Mary Petermann of Rt. 1, Brillion, and seven grandchildren.
