Early in the week, Mrs. E.J. Vickers received the sad intelligence of the death of her young son, Claud Gilbert which occurred at a Salt Lake Hospital. The young man, age 15, who was a jockey was riding at Helena, Montana, where he was taken slightly ill with a sore throat. By the time the party reached Salt Lake his ailment was announced diphtheria and he was removed to a hospital where he lived but a few days. Since the last of March this year, Mrs. Vickers has suffered the loss of a daughter, husband, a brother and son. Much sympathy is felt for her in her heavy bereavement.
