Peggy Gould Guthrie, 76, of Scott Depot died in her home after a long illness.

Born May 2, 1929, in Kanawha, she was the daughter of the late William and Mattie Shamblin. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Grover and Ray Shamblin of Poca and Paul Shamblin of South Charleston; and one daughter, Donna Wingo of St. Albans.

She is survived by one brother, Gary Shamblin of Kanawha City; one sister, Glenna Bailey of Dunbar; and three sisters-in-law, Clemmie Shamblin of Dunbar, Juanita Shamblin of Nitro and Lenore Dick of Bluefield.

She is also survived by her children, Dana and Teresa Guthrie of Poca, Carol and Michael Adkins of Scott Depot, Richard and Rita Guthrie of Charleston, Rebecca and Jacques Smith of Abilene, Texas, and Warren Wingo of St. Albans; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Peggy will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Cline officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes.
