Linder, 67, was first stricken Thursday and was taken to the hospital Friday. His condition was not considered serious, but he suffered a second attack and died within a short time.
Linder recently retired from the business established by his father, the late J. W. Linder, in 1901. A member of the third generation of the family, Wayne Carr Linder, is now operating the business.
Linder was a member of Bardstown Methodist Church and Duvall Lodge, Free & Accepted Masons.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jessie Carr Linder; a daughter, Mrs. P. A. Fitzgibbon, Chanute, KS; three sons, Wayne Carr Linder, Bardstown; Phil W. Linder, an employee of Citizens Fidelity Bank & Trust, Louisville, and Dr. Jack S. Linder, Mexico, MO; 17 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Robert Stiles, Coral Gables, FL, and a brother Howard Linder, Miami.
According to the Kentucky Death Certificate, Mr. Linder was born in Indiana to parents Isaac W. Linder and mother whose maiden name was Lile.
