August Reschke, 84, of the Town of Rockland, Manitowoc County, died Sunday morning at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hillmann, in the township, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John and St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reedsville, the Rev. Harvey Heckendorf officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Reschke was born May 11, 1879, in Germany, son of the late John and Caroline Schmidt Reschke, and was three years old when the family came to the U.S. He married Rosalie Bubolz Sept. 16, 1909, and the couple farmed in the Town of
Rockland.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Carl Hillmann of Rockland and Mrs. Milford Hillmann of New Holstein, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Reedsville Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Tuesday, until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
