His birth name was Clifford Purl Leeper. He changed it when he enlisted in the Army to become a Traveling Mechanic during WWII.

Married 9 July 1924 at Council Bluffs.

Pearl C. Leeper, 97, of Council Bluffs died Nov. 6 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.
Mr. Leeper was born in Sidney and lived in Adair county before moving to Council Bluffs in 1919. He owned Leeper Auto Service.
Mr. Leeper was preceded in death by his wife, Edith, in 1974.
Survivors include three daughters; three sons; two sisters, Irene Witte of Council Bluffs and Sadie Perrin of Seattle, 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Monday at 1:30 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery at Magnolia.
