PEMBROKE, Ga. - James M. Godley, age 70, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Eagle Health and Rehabilitation. Mr. Godley was a native of Savannah, but had lived in Pembroke for over 28 years. He was a member of Pembroke Christian Church and Ivanhoe Hunting Club. Mr. Godley loved to hunt and fish, sitting on the back porch with family and friends and was an avid Washington Redskins fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Madicus H. and Catherine Bell Godley.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Helen M. Godley of Pembroke; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Steve Ashburn of Warrenton, Va., Karen and Tim Ramage of Savannah and Christine and Jody Callison of Pembroke; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Martha Godley of Florence, S.C.; grandchildren, Megan Wright of Phoenix, Stefanie Asburn of Warrenton, Va., Josh Ashburn of Fairfax, Va., Justice Ramage of Statesboro, Jericho Ramage of Statesboro and Rachel Hagan of Pembroke; great-grandchildren, Annabella, Savannah, Noah, Elijah and Colt; mother-in-law, Moira McKinnie; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary and Manuel Sanchez, Martin and Joan McKinnie, Barbara McKinnie, Neil and Sue McKinnie, Bruce and Alice McKinnie and Moira Hoyt; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 5-8p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Sullivan Jr. officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pembroke Christian Church.
