JOHNSTOWN — MARTIN – Lester L., 85, West Taylor Township, entered into the arms of his Heavenly Father at 12:55 a.m. Aug. 2, 2011, at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. Born March 13, 1926, in Johnstown, son of Earl and Helen (Lohr) Martin. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Alice McDowell; brother-in-law, George McDowell; sister-in-law, Anna Mae Haupt; sister-in-law, Dorothy Kreiger; and son-in-law, Gregory C. Mintmier. Survived by wife, the former Florence E. Kreiger, West Taylor Township; daughter, Joyce, Harrisburg; son, Larry, West Taylor Township; grandchildren, David, married to the former Amy Claycomb, Harrisburg; and Kelly, married to Henry Smith, East Freedom; and great-grandsons, Issac, Jacob and Noah Smith. Also survived by sister, Bernadine Kisel, and husband, William, Lower Yoder Township; and brothers-in-law, Arthur Kreiger, Southmont; and Howard Haupt, Johnstown. Lester retired from Davis Breakbeam after 42 years of service. Member of Morrellville Church of the Brethren. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Also a member of Henrietta Hunting & Fishing Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. Memorial service will be at the convenience of the family, the Rev. John Manges, officiating. Interment, Benshoff Hill Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by the VFW Post 155 Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Asera Care Hospice, 1015 Logan Blvd. Altoona, Pa. 16602.
