Donald L. Axt born in Livingston, MT to Fred and Minnie (Miller) Axt on July 9. 1920. Educated in Moberly, Mo schools. Graduated from Moberly Junior College in 1939 and Kirksville Teachers College in 1941, playing football on an athletic scholarship. Enlisted in US Coast Guard 1942-1945 during WWII. Serving on USS Harveson (DE-316) and USS Firebush. He married Alta Sue Pennock in New York City in 1942. After the war he taught at Hannibal Central Junior High School. Following obtaining master degree in education, relocated to Kirkwood, Mo teaching at Keysor Elementary School in Kirkwood, Handley Junior High School and University City High School, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Kirkwood Baptist Church, Masonic order and Scottish Rite, and MSTA. He died peacefully at home in the company of his family on November 26, 1988.
