He was born Sept. 4, 1932, in Boston, Mass., to Sidney and Hannah (Agranat) Regal.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Sculteure.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rosalyn (Helfen); and his three children, Aleksonder Regal of Atlanta, Ga., Judi Regal of Chicago, Ill., and John Regal of Austin, Texas. He also is survived by two sisters, Gertrude Rodman and Estelle Birnbaum, both of Fort Myers, Fla.; and one grandchild, Michael Regal of California.
Mr. Regal graduated from Boston College and started his career at Stanley Home Products. In the late '60s, he was recruited by Thomas Foster to be the chief financial officer and co-owner of Foster & Gallagher Inc. He served as president and then chairman of Foster & Gallagher Inc. until his retirement in 2001.
He was an avid bridge player, attaining the level of Life Master.
He was a patron of Lakeview Museum of Arts and Sciences, as well as many other community and charitable organizations. He was a member of the Lakeview Museum Board, Associate Board and Renaissance Society. Mr. Regal and his wife sponsored many special exhibits hosted by the museum, including Chihuly Glass, Tiffany Lamps, and Preston Jackson Times and Places.
He was a member of Congregation Anshai Emeth in Peoria, Ill.
Private services were held in Palm Beach.
