On June 2, 1941, he was united in marriage with Genevieve M. Ruppert and lived many years among the rolling hills of Spring Valley in the town of Clyde. Together they raised seven children. He was a member of St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Clyde.
Daniel is survived by six children, Brian (Karen) Bennett of Darlington, James of Madison, Joan of Racine, Daniel (Mary Lynn) of Jackson and grandchildren, Thomas (Anna) Bennett, Erica, and Christine, Charlene of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and David (Mary) and grandchildren, Peter, Eileen and Mark of Grafton.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas.
