Morton H. "Mort" Haffey, age 67, of Kaneville Township, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, at Delnor Hospital in Geneva.

He was born Nov. 5, 1946, in Geneva, the son of Morton and Grace (Rumple) Haffey.

Mort owned and operated several farms in Kane County and truly loved his work. He was a train enthusiast. Mort was a loving father, grandfather, and brother and will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Mort is survived by his children, Tammy Haffey and John Haffey, both of Maple Park; grandchildren, Krystal and Heather; sister, Darlene Carlson of Lake Holiday; and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Jack.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 9, at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St. (Route 38), Geneva.

Burial will follow at Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network 425 Spring Lake Drive, Itasca, IL 60143, would be appreciated.
